Add Color To Floor Plans Revit

In the edit color scheme dialog under schemes select a category and color scheme.

Sadly this functionality has been left out of reflected ceiling plan views. However when i go into elevation view and add levels the levels do not just add to my floor plans view. I have watched several videos that show how to add floor plans into revit. Is there a setting i need to adjust or another way to add levels.
