I just set the trim pieces to the edge of the door right before it started rounding off.
Adding trim to rounded cabinet doors.
This step completes the addition of trim to the kitchen.
See the picture below for the before and after sanding.
These are actually rounded too my husband was doubtful because of that reason but turns out you can t really tell.
As the doors ended so did the top of the cabinet.
We built a frame that would sit on top of the cabinet and that we could attach the trim to the frame above the cabinet.
You can attach it to the edges around the perimeter or flat on the face of the door.
Then it s time to fill in all the holes and gaps with wood filler or spackling paste.
This will assure the bond is firm.
Adding trim to cabinet doors.
I am thinking about doing this to our flat faced.
The frame measures the exact same size as the sides and front of the cabinet.
For the rounded corners on my doors i did not fill the gap in.
After adding the trim pieces to all the cabinet doors sand the edges of the trim to make everything even.
It wasn t an exact science but you really didn t noticed it at all once the doors were all hung.
Place a weight on it and leave it for 10 to 12 hours.
If it is a wooden trim simply nail it to the cabinet.
After 10 minutes press again.
Trim of any type makes cabinet doors appear expensive.
There are lots of choices.
Sand the mdf shaker cabinet doors.
If trim is being placed on the cabinet doors that are lying flat the trim should be covered with a plastic wrap.
Oh man you guys.
From drab to fab.
I m so excited about this post i can t even tell you.
