Adjust Sliding Closet Door Rollers

There are holes on your sliding glass door that conceal the adjusting screws to these rollers.

Do the same on the other door. I used a steak knife to pry the plugs loose. This causes the wheels to retract and the door to lower. Remove the outside closet door by first sliding the door to the center of the track.

Inside a standard sliding glass door there are adjustable rollers that help it slide back and forth on the track. Once the door is approximately under the hole in the track release the pivot. If you want to merely adjust the height of the wheels you need to turn the screws clockwise. Turning this screw raises or lowers the roller.

Then angle the door towards you and pull gently detaching the door from its top track. Use a screwdriver to rotate the adjustment screws located at the base of the door frame on each side. Locate the adjustment screws on the lower edges of the door. If the side with the adjusting screw is too high causing it to bind at the top turn the screw counterclockwise.

Begin by inserting the bottom pivot into the bracket which can be screwed to the floor to the door jamb or both. Next carefully lift the door up at a slight angle to remove the bottom rollers from the track. If it s too low use a flat pry bar to raise the door while you turn the adjusting screw clockwise. The wheels on the glass sliding patio door have an adjustment screw at the bot.

To fix it you ll have to work from inside the closet so get a flashlight and screwdrivers. On my door the holes had plastic plugs in them. Hold it against the jamb while you adjust the brackets as shown. You can alter the height of these rollers by accessing the adjustment screws which are set into slots on the door s outer edges perpendicular with the rollers themselves.

Then hold the spring loaded top pivot down while you swing the top of the door toward the frame and under the door track. Once this is complete repeat the process with the inside closet door. Regular vacuuming of the track will help keep the door sliding smoothly.
